         About Obesity Surgery Advice

• We are not offering medical advice - we aim to put the severely overweight in contact with healthcare professionals experienced in the surgical treatment of morbid obesity.

• We do not charge for our service of introduction.

• The cost of your treatment should be discussed with your surgeon / hospital.

• We share an understanding of the difficulties people face in obtaining treatment.

• We have established this service to help the severely overweight obtain such treatment.

• We are sympathetic to the needs and fears of the severely overweight.

• We don’t blame people for their weight, but we ask them for complete candour in return.

• We believe that the surgeon / patient relationship is the best conduit for help. We work with surgeons who advocate

  • Each surgeon will only operate on patients that they have assessed.

  • Each surgeon expects to be responsible for the follow up care.

• The healthcare professionals we work with prefer a letter of introduction from your Doctor, as recommended by the General Medical Council. Occasionally this is not possible, and if you explain to the surgeon why, they will usually try to help.
